PEACE: (Independence Day Special Editions)

First of all, Happy Independence Day, USA!

Peace (in Wikipedia) is a period of harmony between different social groups that is characterized by lack of violence or conflict behaviors, and the freedom from fear of violence. Commonly understood as the absence of hostility and retribution, peace also suggests sincere attempts at reconciliation, the existence of healthy or newly healed interpersonal or international relationships, prosperity in matters of social or economic welfare, the establishment of equality, and a working political order that serves the true interests of all.

To me, Peace is not solely about the absence of war or conflicts. It is not about the absence of threat from the neighboring countries/states either nor the absence of fear.
Peace can be disrupts from smallest wants of your desire and jealousy to the biggest threat of your existence. Perfect peace is about the total calmness of one’s life. Peace is also can be describe as the total happiness in your lives.

You cannot claimed you’ve got peace when you get jealous of somebody’s possession. You cannot claimed you’ve got peace when you have doubt in your life. Even the fear of your wellbeing and death can disturb your peace.

Even the richest man in the world do not have total peace in their lives. No matter how rich a person is, he’s afraid of one thing or another. If you have fear in your lives, peace is not with you.

Indeed, nobody in the world can have perfect peace but we can create peace around us by just loving our own life. If you’re quite happy with your lives, that’s where peace can come from. Because when you’re happy, you will never think of causing someone to destruction. When you completely love your life, you’ve got your peace.

Peace is the most discussed subject and demanded needs in the world. Between nations and countries, even between states or families and around the world, the first and core focus is on peace. However sadly, we never allow peace to glow, because we are egoistic, selfish, jealous, unkind, and despicable. We want good lives for ourselves while we loathe seeing our brothers grow.

We wages war in the name of peace and law. But we often do most callous things to ourselves and to others. Peace is not about law. Law is just another thing that shows we’re guilty at certain thing. Instead of seeking peace within ourselves, we try to enforce on others. To achieve peace and security, we spent billions of dollars on armament and weapons while we forget that could make the world a much better place if we used it for the betterment of the people.

We demand peace for the world, but at time, I wondered if we understand what peace is actually. Peace is not about how many personal securities we have in our land to keep us safe. The more personal securities we have, the more we shows to the world that we are not a peace.

You may have won a great victory but peace is not about winning the battle. It is about how we love ourselves and created peaceful environment around us. Peace is about you and I understand each other. And it’s you and I who can bring peace not by the power of the gun.

Building peace in your hearts and minds is the best way to bring peace to the world. We never understand peace can be started by loving ourselves.
